NEW WASHINGTON—On Thursday evening, the Buckeye Central Board of Education held their monthly meeting.

When welcoming students back to school next month, masks will not be required but will be welcomed if a parent or guardian wishes for their child to still wear them. The school is still going to keep up with the sanitizing routine that it adopted over the last school year.

Buckeye will not be offering online schooling but does have the program used for credit recovery. However, Superintendent Mark Robinson said that it is not comparable to the education students would receive if they were in school.

There will be an open house on August 8 from 1-4 for anyone who would like to come and see the new facilities that were added beginning in November 2019. Those in attendance can view the Bitty Bucks Preschool and Kindergarten classrooms, STEAM Lab, conference center with administrative offices, and the bus garage. There will be refreshments provided along with Rader’s Homemade Ice Cream.

The next board meeting is August 12 at 7 p.m.
