A walk through the Crawford County Fair is always a symphony of different animal sounds, but on Tuesday, the quietest barn got the most attention as rabbit showing and judging took place. Courtney Britt got a fair share of attention as well.

The 2014 Crawford County Fair is certainly going to be one to be remembered for Courtney Britt and her family. Britt earned grand champion honors for the second time at the fair on Tuesday, this time for rabbits in the Meat Class. On Sunday she claimed that same honor for alpacas.

Britt was a bit taken aback by the honor of winning.

“A lot went into the preparation and I really didn’t expect to get this far with my rabbits,” Britt said, “it’s just a great thing to happen.”

Britt also took from the experience what it means to be rewarded for hard work.

“A lot of hard work pays off and just keep going at it until something goes right and something went right today.”
