BUCYRUS―The 51st Bratwurst Festival kicks off at 11 a.m. today at the Wyandot Mutual Insurance Stage on West Rensselaer Street and offers tons of food, amusement rides, games, events, and plenty of entertainment.
McGuffey Lane will headline this year’s festival on Saturday night at the FC Bank Stage near Washington Square along with Stadium 11. The members of McGuffey Lane hail from the Columbus and Athens, Ohio, areas and formed the band in 1972. They are best known for their hit songs, “Long Time Lovin You,” “People Like You,” and “It’s A Good Day.” Members of McGuffey Lane include Steve George Reis, Terry Efaw, John Schwab, Molly Pauken, Randy Huff and Kevin Reed.
Opening for McGuffey Lane at t p.m. is local musician and school teacher, Matt Hoover, and McGuffey Lane will take the stage at 8:30 p.m.
On Friday, classic rock band, Stadium 11, will rock Bucyrus at 8 p.m. with a mix of songs from artists and bands such as Boston, Journey and Elton John.
Several local bands will be playing throughout the festival also. The Elks will offer a DJ this evening while Big Red Deluxe will entertain the crowd in their beer garden on Friday and Saturday nights. Across the street at the VFW, Melanie Pfahler’s band Time Warped will perform on Thursday evening with Haz Benz rocking the crowd on Friday evening. The Haz Benz band features local musicians Kevin Williamson and Scott Dunford along with Paul Kress and Jeff Frambes.
Down the street at the Amvets, the Rolling Hams will play on Thursday while Rod Mouser and the Smokin’ Hams will play in the organization’s beer garden on Friday and Saturday night. The Bucyrus Moose Family Center will offer the musical talents of The Mile Markers on Saturday night.
