BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Bratwurst Festival Inc. is launching its first-ever online 50/50 raffle, offering supporters three chances to win while benefiting the Bucyrus Backpack Program.
One winner will be drawn each day of the festival: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The total jackpot from each day will be divided, with 50 percent going to the winner, 25 percent to Bratwurst Festival Inc. to support festival operations, and 25 percent to the Bucyrus Backpack Program, which provides weekend meals to local students in need.
Tickets are currently available for purchase through Zeffy, a secure online platform. Participants can buy 1 ticket for $5, 6 tickets for $20, or 20 tickets for $50. Presence at the festival is not required to win, and individuals are welcome to enter on all three days.
“This raffle is more than just a fundraiser. It is a reflection of who we are trying to be as an organization,” said Kate Volk, Community Engagement Director for Bratwurst Festival Inc. “We chose the Bucyrus Backpack Program because it is directly helping local children thrive. Our festival theme this year is ‘Brattie Supports Our Educators, the Heart of Our Community,’ and what better way to live out that message than by supporting students outside the classroom too.”
Virginia Hammontree, a dedicated volunteer who helps lead the Bucyrus Backpack Program, expressed overwhelming joy upon hearing the news. Her commitment to local children is a driving force behind the program’s impact.
“Virginia’s excitement reminded us why we do what we do,” said Adam Heinlen, Board President of Bratwurst Festival Inc. “This partnership is just one example of how we are growing beyond a three-day festival into a community-first organization.”
