Every year, the Bucyrus Bratwurst Festival boasts great entertainment for every person and taste, and Friday night was no different as Cherry Blonde and Phil Dirt and the Dozers took the stage.
Cherry Blonde, who served as the 8 o’clock opener, is a five member party rock cover band based in central Ohio. They perform popular, upbeat hits from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and today. Holly Reisner, who follows Cherry Blonde and was selling T-shirts at the concert, said that she was really excited to see them perform because their energy is always really high and fun.
Following Cherry Blonde was the headliners, Phil Dirt and the Dozers. This group is one of the most popular vintage rock and roll shows in the nation, playing everywhere from California to New York and everywhere in between. The songs played featured songs from such artists as the Beach Boys, Roy Orbison, the Righteous Brothers’, and The Eagles, among many others. Phil Dirt and the Dozers has become a favorite in Ohio, and the Bratwurst Festival proudly displayed their talents.
Marilyn Strang was a concert goer who came out for the parade, and ended up staying to see both the John Kennedy Orchestra and Phil Dirt and the Dozers. Of the latter, she said, “They have always been one of our favorites and we are excited to see how they’ve changed, what they’ve added to their repertoire, and what they look like now.”
Saturday night will be just as entertaining, as the O’Donnells take the stage at 7:30 followed by Love and Theft.
