GALION — A boy was hospitalized after participating in the City of Galion trick-or-treat event Sunday, Oct. 28.
The Galion Police Department is investigating the illness as it was reported that questions were raised about the possibility of drug-laced candy.
In a Facebook post, GPD said it had no details about laced candy, but encouraged parents to check their children’s candy before the children consume it.
GPD also said parents should check non-candy items received during the event as well.
The boy was reported to have been trick-or-treating on the west side of Galion, in the area of Arlington and Highland avenues and Tidd Drive.
He is expected to make a full recovery.
