The Bucyrus Outreach and Restoration Network (BORN) is looking to double down on the success garnered from last year’s craft show.
The second annual BORN Vendor and Craft Show will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 9 at Bucyrus Nazarene Church.
Fifty vendors have already signed up for the event and will feature a wide array of items. Eliza Cole, director of operations for BORN, was excited about the variety of vendors they have been able to bring in, from American Girl doll clothes, Mary Kay, and Scentsy to homemade items in the form of quilts, wreaths, cards, jewelry, soaps, and lotions. She said there will also be a number of vendors who will sell primitive items.
Thirteen churches have also teamed up for a massive bake sale and a concession stand will be open to sell sloppy joes, hot dogs, and chips.
The event is free to attend and door prizes will be given out every 15 minutes.
All of the proceeds from the registration fees, bake sale, and concession stand will go towards helping house homeless people in the community. BORN will also be accepting donations during the craft show.
“One of our biggest objectives is to provide immediate housing for homeless people,” Cole explained. “Anybody who is in need. Everybody is down on their luck at some point in their life. That’s what we’re there for.”
Last year BORN was able to house 76 homeless people in the community with the help of the proceeds from the craft show. The $1,200 raised also helped those who were in need of water, electric, gas, and work readiness. This year, they are looking to double that number.
BORN will still be taking vendor applications until noon on Friday. For more information call Eliza Cole at 419-689-0226, email bucyrusborn@gmail.com, visit www.bucyrusborn.com, or stop by the BORN office at 117 E. Mansfield St.
