BUCYRUS—Two co-defendants arrested Wednesday as a result of a big drug bust near Crestline appeared in Crawford County Municipal Court via video for a bond hearing.
Crawford County Municipal Court Judge Shane Leuthold heard from Crawford County Prosecutor Matt Crall regarding details.
According to Crall, Gerald Cotsmire, 56, of Crestline, and Sherie Pfleiderer, 57, of Crestline were arrested in the bust.
The drug bust took place in cooperation with the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department and the METRICH Drug Task Force.

Officers seized large amounts of methamphetamine, estimated to weigh 253.11 grams, with a street value between $15,000 to $20,000. Drug paraphernalia, firearms, and $6,339 in cash were also seized. In addition to the officers recovered a Polaris side-by-side that had been stolen out of Kentucky.

Crall told the court that additional charges of tampering with evidence will be forthcoming against Cotsmire because he attempted to destroy evidence during the search.
Both defendants face charges of Possession of Drugs, a first-degree felony punishable with up to 11 years in prison.
Judge Shane Leuthold appointed attorney Joel Spitzer to represent Cotsmire. He set his bond at $250,000.00.
Leuthold appointed attorney Dereck Dailey to represent Pfleiderer because she has no further potential charges. Her bond was set at $200,000.00.
