NORTH ROBINSON ― The Colonel Crawford Board of Education meeting Monday evening began with athletic director David Sheldon reading of a letter from Chuck Huggins, who is stepping down after 31 years as the head softball coach for the district.

Huggins said in the letter that he loved every minute of his time as the coach for Colonel Crawford and that he will now assist his daughter, Natalie, with her coaching responsibilities as well as spend time with his grandchildren.
The board later approved Huggins’ resignation as head softball coach.
Several other agenda items were approved as well, such as several donations from various organizations, the open enrollment application and guidelines for the 2019-20 school year and legal counsel services from Bricker and Eckler and Day Ketterer.
A contract to hire school treasurer Vickey Stump as a retire–rehire from April 2 to July 31 and from Aug. 1 to July 31, 2020 also was approved.
Superintendent Todd Martin presented board members with gifts of appreciation for their service to the district in honor of School Board Appreciation Month.
The next meeting is on Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. in the Media Center.
