BUCYRUS — Bucyrus City Schools’ graduation date has been set for June 26 after students were given the chance to pick the method of commencement used.
Bucyrus City Schools Board of Education members were updated on a survey given. A survey was sent out to seniors, and more than 60 percent of the class responded and said they would like to delay graduation in hopes that they could have a traditional graduation ceremony, or one that is as close to normal as possible.
Board members were updated on parameters established by Gov. Mike DeWine on using indoor and outdoor facilities for athletics. Bucyrus athletic director Kelli Williams has been working to establish guidelines for facility usage once the order is lifted, and those guidelines will be released then.
Guidelines for opening schools should be coming out soon and administration will sit down and go over them and present the board with their plan to open schools back up for approval.
Because the school received funds from the federal IDEA-B for special education, the school is required to hold a meeting to receive feedback suggestions for allocating those funds for the special ed program. On May 27 at 5 p.m., Superintendent Chrispin and Dr. Karen Hall will be in the administrative offices so that people may stop in the board room and give their suggestions.
