CRESTLINE — At the Crestline Exempted Village Schools Board of Education organizational meeting, faces both veteran and new, were sworn in for their terms on the board.
Board president Jeff Wilhite was sworn in for his next term, and new board member James Glauer was sworn in for his first term. Wilhite again was voted to be board president, while Robyn Almanson was elected as vice president.

Board members decided to keep the dates for the 2020 board meetings on the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m., however, the November meeting will be the first Monday, due to a conference the second week that board members attend.
The 2020-21 school calendar will be posted for Crestline residents to view, but it has not yet been voted on.
During the regular meeting, which immediately followed the organizational meeting, superintendent Matt Henderson told the board that Drake Moyer was the second-place finisher in the Crawford County Spelling Bee, and he, along with Liliana Bunch, Shawna Riddlebaugh and AJ Wise will be attending the tri-county bee in February.

The board also was informed the Northwest Central Conference voted to invite Crestline into the conference for the 2021 school year as a football affiliate. Administrators said they are hoping to eventually become a member for all sports in the NWCC. The Bulldogs also said they would like to potentially get back into the Northern 10 Athletic Conference one day.
Board members were told there will be Japanese drumline coming into the school Jan. 21 at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., courtesy of the PTO.
This year’s literacy night for the school will be March 5, which is two months earlier than normal. All off the elementary students and their families are invited to attend, along with all the Title I students from Crestline St. Joseph and their families. There will be different stations for families to visit with lots of game and good, and one station will allow children to read to dogs.
The next board meeting is Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. in the Crestline High School library.
