For the convenience of Crawford Countians who are eligible to register to vote, but have not done so, or for those who need to record a change of residence, and/or change of name, the Crawford County Board of Elections announced the hours and dates the permanent office of the Board of Elections at 112 E. Mansfield St., Ste. A, Bucyrus, Ohio will be open prior to the General Election on May 2, 2017.
- Monday – Friday through March 31, 2017 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Monday, April 3, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Regular business hours of deputy registrars are also available at the Bucyrus, Galion, Crestline, and New Washington public libraries; Bucyrus, Galion, and Crestline city halls; Buckeye Central, Bucyrus, Colonel Crawford, Crestline, Galion, and Wynford high schools; any Bureau of Motor Vehicles or Job and Family Services; any WIC office; the Department of Mental Health; or the County Treasurer’s Office.
Registration and change of residence opportunities close on April 3, 2017.
Qualifications for registering are as follows: “Every citizen of the United States who is of the age of eighteen years or over and who has been a resident of the state thirty days, and is a resident of the county and precinct in which he offers to vote, has the qualifications of an elector.”
You must be a registered elector to vote in Crawford County.
The penalty for election falsification is imprisonment for not more than six months, or a fine of not more than $1,000, or both.
The Crawford County Board of Elections suggests that this notice of times and dates and places for registration be preserved for future reference, as it will not be published again prior to the closing date for Registration or Change of Residence, April 3, 2017.
