BLOOMVILLE, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Bloomville United Church of Christ will host its 68th annual Strawberry Festival on Saturday, June 14, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., rain or shine. The event, a long-standing tradition for the church and surrounding community, will feature food, activities, and a photo station.

The festival will be held outside the church at 31 N. Marion Street in Bloomville. Parking is available in the back.

“This event is something that our congregation is so proud of and gets so excited for all year,” said Audrey Flood, president of the Bloomville UCC’s board. “It provides wonderful fellowship, and the funds raised by the event help our church continue to support the Bloomville community and its residents. Please come out and get some strawberry shortcake!”

Food service begins at 5 p.m. and will include shredded chicken sandwiches, sloppy joes, coleslaw, potato salad, three-bean salad, baked beans, various pies, and the renowned strawberry shortcake with fresh strawberries and ice cream.

In addition to the culinary offerings, visitors can enjoy a photo station with the “Strawberry Truck” and various kids’ activities, including a bounce house.

Last year’s festival set records for both attendance and funds raised.

Troy Kagy, President of the Bloom Township Trustees and a lifelong member of Bloomville UCC, emphasized the event’s significance. “The volunteers put so much work into it, but the benefit to the church and the community is worth even more,” he said.

Bloomville Mayor David Auble Jr. added, “Every summer, the Strawberry Festival brings visitors to Bloomville, and it allows community members to come together to socialize and connect. It has been a favorite in the Village for almost 70 years now.”
