For the fourth straight year bird bander Bob Scott Placier will visit Lowe-Volk Park to capture, band and release Ohio’s smallest owls.

LV saw-whet owlPlacier will be at Lowe-Volk Park at 6:30 the evening of Nov. 8 with his nets to capture saw-whet owls. Placier has been working on a saw-whet owl project since 2003.

Placier’s visit will begin inside with a Power Point presentation, and then move outside with calling tapes and nets in an attempt to attract and capture the small owls for banding.
