The alleged misconduct by a Crestline police officer will be investigated by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Identification, according to the Crestline Advocate.
Jill DelGreco, a spokesperson for the BCII, confirmed that a BCI Special Investigations Unit had received a request from Crawford County prosecutor Matt Crall to investigate possible misconduct by a Crestline police officer. Due to the ongoing investigation, no additional details were available at the time.
Allegations had been made against the Crestline Police Department during a Jan. 26 meeting of the Crestline Village Council. A comment on a Facebook paged alleged that a Crestline police officer had solicited sexual favors in exchange for not writing tickets.
Those allegations led to Mayor David Sharrock investigating the department.
