NEW WASHINGTON — The Buckeye Central FFA hosted its 43rd annual banquet Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria.

The banquet started with Madison Diesch leading a prayer then dismissing members and guests to eat.

After the meal, FFA officers began with opening ceremonies and President Adam Krebs then recognized the honored guests.

Next, all the junior high FFA members received their Discovery Degree award. The members were Lane Bauer, Sydney Beamer, Lauren Detterman, Gage Herring, Kiley Sobers, Cheyenne Swank and Kenny Utz.

The Star Discovery Degree award was awarded to Lane Bauer.

Then, Graham Geissman, Garrett Harrison, Chris Hiler, Shanti Hunter, Isaac Krebs, Eva Lewis, Noah Light, Lauren Mann and Wyatt Martin received their Greenhand FFA degree.

After the Greenhand Degree winners were announced, the Star Greenhand award was given out. The Star Greenhand award is an award given to the top first-year FFA member. This year’s winner was Lauren Mann.

Next the Chapter Degree members received their degree. The winners were Owen Diesch, Hunter Dittman, Jessica Durnwald, Tommy Phillips, Brynn Pope, Danny Utz and Kailey Vaughn.

The Star Chapter in Agriscience award was awarded to Brynn Pope and Tommy Phillips.

Then, all seniors and juniors received certificates of completion and awards for their accomplishments in Career Development Events. The junior members were Jake Heefner, Samantha Hinton, Steven Long, Alivia Niese, Emma Rhodes and Savannah Barnette. The senior members are Madi Diesch, Josh Gwirtz, Adam Krebs, Grant Shook, Mason Stahl and Darren Wurm.

The Star Chapter Agriplacement Award is given to the top junior or senior in the ag classroom. Factors included in the decision include FFA involvement, CDE activities, classroom excellence, and a job placement SAE program. This year’s Star Chapter in Agriplacement award winner was Mason Stahl.

The Star Chapter Agribusinessman Award is given to the top junior or senior in the agriculture classroom, factors included in the decision include FFA involvement, CDE activities, classroom excellence, with an emphasis on an entrepreneurship supervised agriculture experience. This year’s Star Chapter Agribusinessmen was Adam Krebs and Alivia Niese.

The Star Chapter Farmer Award is awarded to the top senior in the agriculture education program factors included in the decision include, FFA involvement, CDE activities, classroom excellence and an SAE in Production Agriculture. This year’s Star Chapter Farmer award winner was Mason Stahl.

The Chapter Leadership Award is given to any student in the FFA Chapter that has shown outstanding leadership in the classroom, while participating in Career Development Events, or through their SAE Project. This year’s Chapter Leadership Award winners are Lauren Mann, Emma Rhodes, Graham Geissman, Sam Hinton and Zach Hiler.

The Ag. Credit 110% Award is given each year to a senior member of the FFA that has displayed above and beyond the call of duty within the FFA program. This year’s winners for the Ag. Credit 110% award were Darren Wurm and Madi Diesch.

After all the awards were given out, the new chapter officers were announced.

This year’s new officers are president Tommy Phillips, vice president Jake Heefner, treasure Savannah Barnette, secretary Brynn Pope,  reporter Shanti Hunter, sentinel Sam Hinton, and student advisor Alivia Niese.
