On Thursday March 23, Buckeye Central FFA held their 41st Annual Awards Banquet.

Junior Bailey Agin led the banquet by giving a prayer and dismissing everyone for the meal. After the meal, awards were given out.

All seventh and eighth grade members received their Discovery Award. Tommy Phillips received the Star Discovery award.

Freshmen members received their Greenhand Award. Alivia Niese was the recipient of the Star Greenhand Award.

Sophomore members received their Chapter Award. Adam Krebs and Brandon Mann received the Star Agriscience Award.

Senior Victoria Miller along with juniors Makayla Aichholz, Jared Clark, McKennah Corfman, Emily Dean, Payton Phenicie, Alex Rowlinson, Zoe Rutledge, Kendra Stahl, and Emily Stockmaster will be receiving their State Degrees at State FFA Convention in May.

Makayle Aichholz and McKennah Corfman were presented with the Star Chapter Agribusinessman Award. Megan McCoy received the Star Chapter Farmer Award. All ‘Star’ awards were given to members who show great strides in FFA involvement, activities, and classroom involvement. McCoy also received the Ag. Credit 110% award, which was given out by David Green of Ag. Credit Bucyrus.

Leadership awards were given out to members who have shown dedication and excellence throughout the past year. Recipients for leadership were McCoy, Corfman, Rutledge, Diesch, Mason Stahl, and Niese.

Rutledge sold over $1,400 of fruit, and was the top fruit salesman for this year.

The Gary Green Scholarship was given to McCoy, Miller, Ashlee Stander, Amanda Stockmaster, and Ashley Stockmaster.

The new officer team for the BC FFA will be Rutledge as president and Krebs as vice president. Corfman will stay serving as the secretary. The new reporter is Kendra Stahl. Mason Stahl will be stationed by the door as sentinel. And Bailey Agin will stay student advisor for the upcoming year.

“Overall the banquet was successful and I can’t wait for the upcoming FFA year,” said Kendra Stahl.
