Author Dana Martin Batory will sign copies of his most recent book, The History & Geology of the Leesville, Ohio Stone Quarries, on Monday, July 7 from 3pm until 5pm at the Crestline Public Library, 324 N. Thoman St. No program is planned, but Dana will be happy to answer questions about his Leesville Quarry research that spanned the past three years. The Friends of the Crawford Park District will have copies of his book for sale for $20 each.
Batory graduated from Crestline High School and studied for a B.A. in geology at Ohio State University. Though he left the field to pursue a career as a freelance writer, he remains an avid mineral collector. Dana is presently researching a book covering the history and geology of all the Crawford County quarries for the Park District and is interested in examining any documents, photos, etc., that may be out there. This book signing will be an opportunity to meet Dana and provide additional quarry information.
