BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—As the holiday season approaches, the Salvation Army is once again calling on the community’s creative spirit to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate. Back by popular demand, the annual Pretty Painted Pots contest offers an opportunity for individuals, groups, schools, and businesses to showcase their artistic talents while supporting a great cause.

This heartwarming initiative encourages the community to come together to provide for families who may be facing financial struggles during the Christmas season. The idea is simple but powerful: paint a Salvation Army kettle with your vision of Christmas, and watch as it brings smiles to faces and much-needed support to local families.

“We’re looking for groups, individuals, schools, and companies to paint our kettles depicting something Christmas,” said Major Tom and Kelly, coordinators of the Pretty Painted Pots contest. “There will be awards for the most artistic, the most creative, and the ‘People’s Choice’ award. The biggest winners, of course, will be those we serve this Christmas season!”

The highly-anticipated event is set to take place on Friday, November 17, during the Salvation Army’s kettle season kick-off at Bucyrus City Hall, starting at 9:00 a.m. The winners will be determined based on the amount of money placed in their respective kettles and by the vote of Salvation Army board members.

All painted kettles will be strategically placed in front of local vendors and store locations throughout the community. The Salvation Army will provide the kettle, and participants are encouraged to bring their creative flair by supplying the materials needed to transform these canvases of goodwill into works of art.

To ensure a spot in this heartwarming event, individuals and groups can reserve their kettle pot by calling (419) 562-0071 and asking for Major Tom or Kelly. Reservations can also be made by emailing thomas.grace@use.salvationarmy.org.

The Pretty Painted Pots contest not only adds a festive touch to the Bucyrus community but also reminds everyone that the true spirit of Christmas lies in giving and coming together to support those in need. So, roll up your sleeves, grab your paintbrushes, and be a part of this inspiring tradition that brings joy, hope, and assistance to those who need it most. Your creativity can make a real difference this holiday season.
