The Buckeye Central Local School Board reports it has narrowed the search for the next superintendent of schools to three candidates. Curtis Clough, Michael Martin and Mark Robinson have been selected as finalists for the position from a field of 16 candidates who applied..

Interviews are currently being scheduled with these individuals and extensive reference checking has begun.

Clough is a graduate of Shelby High School and has been superintendent of the Strasburg-Franklin school district since 2011.

Martin is currently an administrator at Pioneer and working on his superintendent’s certification. Martin is a Buckeye Central graduate.

Robinson is a Willard graduate and is currently an administrator with Mahoning County ESC.

The search is being led by Dr. Gene Linton and Dr. Dwight McElfresh of the Telego Center for Educational Improvement at Ashland University. Questions regarding the search can be directed to Dr. Linton at (419) 289-5921 or elinton@ashland.edu.

May 15 has been set as the tentative hire date for the next superintendent who will be expected to begin Aug. 1. Colonel Crawford Superintendent Todd Martin is currently acting as interim superintendent for the Buckeye Central district.
