CRESTLINE, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Avita Health System has announced plans to open a retail pharmacy at 385 N. Seltzer Street, Crestline, in early 2025. This new pharmacy aims to fill the gap left by the recent closure of local pharmacy services, providing Crestline residents with convenient access to essential medications and healthcare services.

“Many communities recently lost pharmacy services and Crestline residents were left with no option in their home town,” stated Jerry Morasko, President/CEO of Avita Health System. “I am happy that Avita will be able to provide convenient access to those services in this area in addition to bringing new jobs to Crestline.”

Avita plans to renovate a portion of their current space at the corner of Seltzer Street and Main Street into a small retail pharmacy open to the public. The pharmacy will offer a full line of over-the-counter and prescription medications, and will be open to everyone, not just Avita patients. They will accept prescriptions from all medical providers and all major pharmacy insurance plans. Additional services will include curbside prescription pick-up, automatic refills, immunizations, and FLAVORx custom flavoring for liquid medications. Avita’s RxLocal app will allow patients to request refills, set reminders, and send secure messages to the pharmacy team.

“We will offer the same personalized experience that patients currently receive at our Ontario location,” stated Christina Barnes, PharmD, Director of Pharmacy Services at Avita Health System. “We will also offer immunizations for adults and children as well as one-on-one pharmacist consultations. Patients who have had their prescriptions transferred to another pharmacy still have a choice in where they can have those prescriptions filled going forward. We can fill those prescriptions at our Ontario location until the Crestline location opens. Patients can call Avita Ontario Pharmacy at 567-307-7570, and we will contact the pharmacy and have your prescription transferred.”

“Renovations are starting immediately,” stated Kim Winkle, Vice President of Operations at Avita Health System. “We are hoping to be open for business in early 2025.”
