An attempted traffic stop resulted in an armed suspect shooting at law enforcement officers and the eventual fatality of the suspect, according to a press release by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident began Feb. 26 at 9:41 p.m.

A recording of the scanner traffic during the event was provided to Crawford County Now courtesy of Monitor Crawford County.

NOTE: The name of the deceased suspect was removed from the recording by Crawford County Now staff due to a pending investigation by law enforcement. The names of the officers and suspect have not yet been confirmed by law enforcement.

Below are the approximate times of various possible points of interest:

1:05- Start of deputy dispatch to scene on State Route 39.
3:55- Suspect reportedly shoots at the cruiser of Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper.
6:40- Dispatch reveals name of possible suspect. (Name removed in recording pending investigation by law enforcement.)
27:50- Dispatcher reports weapons in the residence of suspect.
30:00- Dispatcher reports shots fired and possible down individual.
32:00- Signal 99 (Officers in possible danger) is issued for Crawford County.
36:45- Signal 21 (Coroner request) issued and emergency medical units are en route.
40:15- All further officers en route to the scene are advised to no longer be in emergency mode.
