UPDATE
The Ashland County Sheriff’s Office is set to contact the U.S. Secret Service regarding the discovery of “offensive” buttons at the Democratic Party booth during the Ashland County Fair.
The incident led to the immediate removal of the Democratic group from the fairgrounds.
The buttons featured alleged offensive messages about former President Donald Trump, including phrases such as “Is he dead yet?” and “One day, we will wake up to his obituary,” in addition to slogans like “He’s not my president” and “We will survive.”
Ashland County Sheriff Kurt Schneider confirmed that the situation is under investigation and expressed grave concern over the messages displayed. “Violence shouldn’t be tolerated in any way, in any venue, in any jurisdiction in the United States, and it certainly won’t be tolerated here in Ashland County,” he stated in an interview with a Cleveland television station.
ASHLAND, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—In a statement released this afternoon, the Ashland County Fair Board expressed its commitment to maintaining a family-friendly atmosphere at the fair.
The board announced that it had received reports regarding offensive buttons displayed at the Democrat booth.
“We are a family-friendly fair and do not condone this type of content from any vendor or merchant,” the board emphasized.
They extended their apologies to fairgoers who encountered the inappropriate display.
As a result of this incident, the Democrat Party was asked to dismantle their booth and will not be participating for the remainder of this year’s fair week.
The Fair Board remains dedicated to ensuring a positive experience for all attendees.
