BUCYRUS — Coach John Ellenwood, men’s basketball coach at Ashland University will be the guest speaker for the Men’s Community Breakfast.

The 41-year-old Sylvania native is a 1995 graduate of Northview High School, and then attend the College of Wooster where he graduated in 2000 with degrees in psychology and education.

He then received his Master of Education degree from Bowling Green State University in 2004 and currently is studying his Master of Business Administration (project management) from Ashland University.John

Before becoming the coach at Ashland, Ellenwood coached at Thomas More College from 2006-2009, was an assistant coach at Capital University from 2003-2006 and was an assistant coach at Ohio Wesleyan University from 2000-2003.

He has a record of 204-151 in his career and is 171-103 at Ashland. He’s attained national top 10 rankings in 2009, 2016 and 2019. He made the NCAA Tournament for his division in 2009, 2016 and 2019 and was a league champion in 2009 and 2016.

Ellenwood and his wife Abbi have four children, John, 12; Mary, 10; Brian, 6; and Aubrey, 3.

The breakfast will take place at the Bucyrus Community Hospital Cafeteria on Wednesday, May 8 at 7 a.m. Ladies are more than welcome to attend.
