Power of the Purse is a women’s giving event featuring sales and auctions of designer, vintage, and unique purses, as well as a live auction of goods and services donated by area businesses, to benefit the vital mission of the American Red Cross.

Tickets for Power of the Purse are $60 per person, $250 for a reserved table of four. Reserved tables of eight are available for an early bird price of $450 before February 15, the cost is $500 after that date. Doors open at 5:30pm for the event, with a dinner buffet served until 7:00pm. The live auction will start at 7:30pm.

OhioHealth Mansfield and Marion is the Presenting Sponsor for this year’s Power of the Purse, with WQEL/WBCO and Crawford County Now serving as the signature media partner. Both leadership sponsors invite the community to join other highly motivated, successful women and find a gorgeous, trendy, over the top bag to start your summer season.

“You do not need to travel far to hear from dynamic leaders about how they are changing the landscape in our Crawford County community today,” Linda Cooperider, Community Volunteer Leader, shared. “Women will walk away inspired and ready to impact our community profoundly with their actions, at the same time having fun together.” Cooperider shared that “live auction packages will feature designer purses including Coach, Kate Spade, and Michael Kors bags.” The community can get involved as a sponsor or by donating a purse or auction item.

The second annual “Helen Picking Neff, Women in Leadership” award will be presented to Mary Lee Minor. The annual award is presented to an inspirational female leader in our community that has made an impact, like Helen, on forging a new path and serving others. The award is designed to be in honor of Mrs. Neff, a long tenured volunteer and supporter of the American Red Cross. The Helen Picking Neff, Women in Leadership Award is selected from nominations the community makes to the Power of the Purse Leadership committee.

The Power of the Purse provides significant funding for Red Cross services in our community, including Disaster Relief, Services to the Armed Forces, Health & Safety/CPR training and other critical community services that the American Red Cross provides.
