ONTARIO, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, Inc. held its Annual Meeting on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at the Mid-Ohio Conference Center in Mansfield. The event was attended by nearly 230 guests, including service providers, Corporate Board members, Foundation Board members, Advisory Council members, community partners, staff, and dignitaries.

The meeting, presided over by Chief Executive Officer Duana Patton and President of the Board of Trustees Jason Painley, highlighted the accomplishments of the Area Agency on Aging for 2023. Platinum Sponsors, including Mechanics Bank and ES Consulting, contributed to the event. The proceeds from the Annual Meeting will provide scholarships to students pursuing a field of study, certification program, or degree benefiting the field of aging.

The Area Agency on Aging also presented the 2023 annual awards. The Project Collaboration award was presented to Friendly House, and the Community Partnership award was given to Central Ohio Youth for Christ. Beth Kowalczyk received the Advocate of the Year award, while John and Mary Peterson were honored with the Award of Excellence. Senator Mark Romanchuk was named Elected Official of the Year. Pat and Jana Mulherin were inducted into the Area Agency on Aging Hall of Fame.
