A call has been made throughout Crawford County as a search begins for the 2017 Bratwurst Festival Queen.
Applications are now available for the Bratwurst Festival Queen’s Pageant and, new this year, the Princess Pageant. Applications can be picked up at all six county high schools, the Bucyrus Public Library, the Bucyrus Area Chamber of Commerce, the Bratwurst Festival Office, or downloaded at http://bucyrusbratwurstfestival.com/queens.html.
The Queen and her court will reign for a period of one year where they will have the opportunity to travel, learn about other communities, meet new friends, and gain experience in public speaking.
The contest is open to all girls ages 15-19 living in Crawford County. A mandatory Get Acquainted Candidate Tea will be held at 6 p.m. on June 5 at the Bucyrus Public Library, during which time the application packet can be turned in. Hand delivered applications should be turned in to Sheila Nickum no later than May 30.
Scholarship prizes are awarded to the Queen and her court.

The Princess Pageant, which is for girls ages 11-13, is new to the Bratwurst Festival this year. Applications are available at the Bucyrus Public Library or can be downloaded at http://bucyrusbratwurstfestival.com/princess.html. The application deadline is June 15. A Get Acquainted Tea will be held at 6:30 p.m. on June 22 at the Crawford County Council on Aging.

The Jr. Princess Pageant is available for girls between the ages of 7 and 8. Applications will be available from May 23 to June 13 at the Bucyrus Public Library and a Get Acquainted Tea will be held on June 21.
