CRESTLINE — Emergency crews contended with yet another fire Wednesday while braving dangerously cold weather.
Crestline firefighters had already battled an afternoon house fire on German Road when the call came in for a blaze on South Washington Avenue.
The unoccupied building, for years housed the Law the Florist flower shop and greenhouses.
Building owner Brant Cornelison could only guess what may have started the fire. “We had guys working out here today. It could have been from a heater…it could have been electrical. It’s hard telling what sparked up.”
Cornelison said he has plans to tear down most of the greenhouses and the storefront and added, “I just didn’t want to do it tomorrow!”
“Being a night like this; it really sucks for these guys (emergency crews).”

With winds gusting to 23 miles per hour and a wind chill factor of -24 degrees, firefighters fought to keep their equipment from freezing.
Along with Crestline Fire Department, emergency personnel responded from Crestline Police and Mansfield, Galion and Jefferson Township Fire Departments.
