BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Maxwell Anatra, 24, was back in the Crawford County Common Pleas Court Wednesday afternoon to face new felony and misdemeanor charges.

Anatra, who has been in custody on a one million dollar bond since  November, is  already facing multiple charges related to the murder of his parents, Matthew and Lisa Anatra of Crestline.

Anatra appeared in court via video. When visiting Franklin County Judge VJ Hogan asked Anatra if he could hear the proceeding clearly, Anatra did not respond prompting Hogan to reply “I’ll take that as a yes.”

Crawford County Prosecutor Matt Crall charged Anatra with striking officers resulting in one fourth degree felony, four fifth degree felonies, and one first degree misdemeanor. Crall asked for an additional $10,000.00 bond on the new charges.

Anatra was represented by court-appointed attorney James Mayer of Mansfield. Mayer declined to have the indictment read on the record. He entered a  not guilty plea. Judge Hogan officially appointed Mayer to represent Anatra on these new filings.

Judge Hogan placed an additional $10,000.00 bond on Anatra.

Crawford County Now reached out to Prosecutor Matt Crall who told us: “No matter why a person is incarcerated, there can be no tolerance for an inmate that assaults our officers at our jail.”
