Galion Middle School teacher Amy Graham was selected as the Ohio Lottery Teacher of the Month for April 2015. Graham teaches technology applications.
The educational recognition programs sponsored by the Ohio Lottery provide opportunities to recognize the outstanding classroom achievements of students and teachers. Graham’s nomination, and subsequent selection, was based on several of her strong characteristics.
“Amy has been crucial in assisting with scheduling, testing and providing technology professional development for our staff,” Middle School Principal Jennifer Allerding said. “Her work ethic and devotion to her profession clearly shows in each task she completes, and I am lucky to have a teacher like her in the building.”
Graham is constantly stepping in to provide support and assistance to her fellow teachers. Her classroom is organized and her students are always engaged in lessons.
“I was very surprised, humbled and honored that Mrs. Allerding would nominate me for such an award,” Graham said. “Being nominated and selected for this award is a direct reflection on all of the hard working teachers and staff at Galion Middle School.”
For being recognized as the April Teacher of the Month, Graham will receive an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise from the Ohio Lottery along with a gift card.
“Teachers make a profoundly positive impact on the students we care for in the Galion City School District,” Superintendent Mark Stefanik said. “When teachers go the extra mile to help improve the lives of their students and their colleagues, recognition is warranted and, in Mrs. Graham’s case, well deserved.”
