The American Legion Auxiliary Colonel Crawford Unit 181 hosted their 17th Annual Make and Bake Auction on Saturday, January 28th, at the American Legion Post Hall. This annual event is to raise funds to assist area families in need. This year the funds raised were split between the Scott and Reva Davis family and Tyson and Katie Barton family. On December 14th, the Davis family lost everything in a fire at their home. The Barton’s’ have premature twins with medical issues.
This year’s auction exceeded $2,400.00 to be shared by the two families. This year the Make and Bake Auction was co-sponsored by the Catholic Ladies of Columbia through Alice Teynor. Mrs. Teynor is the Secretary of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia/CLC Life Insurance Board of Directors and an insurance agent. Matching funds of $500.00 was donated by CLC.
The evening included a fundraiser for Loren’s Cancer Care Fund. $582.00 was raised with the help of Judge Sean Leuthold.
