The American Legion Auxiliary Colonel Crawford Unit 181 will host their annual Make and Bake Auction on Saturday, January 28th, at the American Legion Post Hall, 123 E. Rensselaer St., Bucyrus. This annual event is to raise funds to assist area families in need. This year the funds raised will go to the Scott and Reva Davis family who on December 14th lost everything in a fire at their home. Funds will also go to the Tyson Barton family. The Barton’s’ have premature twins with medical issues. Loren’s Cancer Care Fund will also receive a portion of the proceeds. This year the Make and Bake Auction is being co-sponsored by the Catholic Ladies of Columbia through Alice Teynor. Mrs. Teynor is the Secretary of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia/CLC Life Insurance Board of Directors and an insurance agent.
This evening will also be the Post 181’s annual Chili Cook-off. Members entering chili for judging should be there by 4:30 pm. After the judging, tasting will be at 5:30 pm. Those tasting are asked to make a donation to the American Legion Gifts for Yanks program. The Make and Bake Auction will follow at 6:30 pm. These events are open to the public.
