The Crawford-Marion Board of Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services recently announced its slate of officers for the new fiscal year including the appointment of Galion native Alex Reed as board president. Reed is a graduate of Galion High school and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Mt. Vernon Nazarene University. Reed is employed as the Director of IT for Avita Health System.
Reed notes, “I am happy to serve as a member of the ADAMH Board because of its critical role in addressing both mental health and addiction treatment needs for the citizens of Crawford and Marion counties”. He further stated that the ADAMH Board recently completed a strategic planning process over the course of the summer which will result in recommendations to the full board this fall.
In addition to President Reed, the executive committee of the board includes: Helen Laskaris, vice-president, Don Stone, Finance Committee Chairman, Leslie Beary, Mental Health Committee Chairperson, and Mary Jo Carle, Alcohol and Other Drug Committee Chairperson. The ADAMH Board is responsible for planning, funding, evaluation and monitoring of publicly funded mental health and substance abuse treatment and prevention services. Community Counseling Services, Maryhaven, Twin Valley Psychiatric Hospital and Marion-Crawford Prevention Programs are the primary contract agencies serving Crawford County.
