SANDUSKY COUNTY, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)— The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Fremont Post is currently investigating an airplane crash that took place on County Road 259, just west of County Road 232, in Riley Township.

The incident occurred as the pilot, 41-year-old Zachary T. Haskins of Bloomville, was attempting to take off from Gibbs Aviation.
Haskins did not sustain any injuries in the crash, which left the aircraft resting just north of CR 259.

Emergency responders on the scene included the Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office, Clyde Fire Department, Ballville Fire Department, as well as representatives from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
