The Galion Inquirer is now under new ownership.

AIM Media Midwest announced Tuesday that it purchased all of Civitas Media’s Ohio newspapers, including the local twice-weekly newspaper. Other area newspapers that will undergo a change of ownership are the Bellville Star and the Morrow County Sentinel.

The transaction involved 17 daily newspapers, including The Lima News and a newspaper in West Virginia, 15 weekly publications, and a number of specialty publications. According to reports, current employees will continue in their respective positions under AIM Media.

AIM Media also owns papers in Texas and Indiana.

Civitas took over ownership of the Galion Inquirer in 2011.
