The Central Joint Ambulance District settled its issue of finding a vice president for the remainder of the year on Wednesday evening.

During a report of the Oversight Committee Ron Miller announced that he had spoken with Steve Aichholz and that it was Aiccholz’s intention to resume serving as board vice president until his term expires at the end of the year. Aiccholz had previously stepped down as New Washington’s board representative due to employment commitments.

The ambulance board approved changing the wording on run times in the existing contract with Life Support to match the run times that had been in the bid packet contracts. Tier I will time will now be 5:59, Tier II will be 9:59, Tier III will be 15 minutes, and Tier IV will be 20 minutes.

In Life Support’s report to the CJAD Life Support COO Jess Sipes reported issues with dispatch tones being garbled. Sipes reported numerous instances over the past month in which the tones in the station would drop however there would be no instructions from the 9-1-1 dispatch on where the ambulance service is needed. CJAD President Dale Sipe told Sipes that the two of them will have to meet with Sheriff Scott Kent on the matter.

Sipes also reported that Life Support received 196 9-1-1 calls with 44 refusals of service and seven false alarms.

The board approved 11 time variances while disapproving three time variances for the month of September.
