BUCYRUS — The Crawford County Agricultural Society Board of Directors met in a special meeting Wednesday to decide the intended future for the 2020 Crawford County Fair.
After receiving the most recent guidelines for the Responsible Restart Ohio from the office of Gov. Mike DeWine, the board voted to continue planning to host a full 2020 fair.
In a statement, the board said modifications will be made to adhere to the guidelines, some of which present challenges that will be addressed. Board members said they are confident the livestock shows, merchant exhibits, food concessions and the midway will have a similar look with some adjustments for social distancing and sanitation.
Camping will be offered, and rides will be included with admission.
The areas people may expect to see the most changes from previous years and still are under review include the midway, carnival attractions, livestock sale and the grandstand events. The board said it feels the fair may go on despite some of the changes.
The board is working with the Crawford County Public Health Department to form a plan to have a safe and fun fair. The board also said the ongoing pandemic, along with social demonstrations, remain situations it will keep constant attention on.
Exhibitors are encouraged by the fair board to renew their memberships, bring exhibits to the fair and contact the fair office if interested in sponsoring the fair.
The 2020 Crawford County Fair is July 20-26.
