PORT CLINTON, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)— The gates of the African Safari Wildlife Park opened for its 56th season, Friday, March 22. The Park Director, Kelsey Keller, encourages visitors to take advantage of the early spring season. “Most of our animals are totally unbothered by the chilly-to-mild weather,” said Keller. “You may even be lucky enough to witness the birth of an Alpaca or Bison!”

The Park’s Drive-Thru Safari, a crowd favorite, will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the last car admitted at 4 p.m. The Drive-Thru Safari is home to a variety of animals including Zebras, Bison, Alpacas, Elk, exotic Cattle, Emus, and more. However, warm-weather animals like the Giraffe will generally not be visible unless the air temperature is above 60 degrees.

The Walk-Thru Safari, featuring Gibbons, Lemurs, Kangaroos, Warthogs, educational animal shows, and animal-feeding experiences, is set to open in mid-May.

To celebrate the opening day, the Park is offering general admission tickets for just $16.95—a savings of up to $16 per person. These tickets can be used anytime during the 2024 season. This promotional price is available through March 31 and can only be purchased online at the Park’s official website. Please note that this offer is not available at the gate.
