GALION — The Northmor Local Schools Board of Education heard of a possible addition to the course offerings during its meeting Tuesday evening.
Northmor Junior High and High School Principal Benji Bethea said the district is interested in becoming a satellite campus for North Central State College.
The interest came from the thought of keeping high school students on the Northmor campus and not having to drive to Mansfield.
The neighboring Galion City School District currently is a campus offering associates of arts degree and is a main consultant for Northmor administrators.
Though he is excited about the possibility of hosting the classes, Northmor Superintendent Chad Redmon said the conversations are just to gain information and the earliest the idea could be put in motion is the 2020-21 school year.
Also, during the meeting, board members were informed of a resignation from one the district’s administrators.
The board was informed of Bethea’s decision to resign as principal.
Redmon said Bethea has decided to leave education career field.
