The first phase of Pickwick Place is rolling out with a special grand opening event this weekend.

Acres of Adventure 1Acres of Adventure at Pickwick Place is a hub for agriculture education. Featuring fun, hands-on activities ranging from a corn maze, petting zoo, interactive learning stations, and a pumpkin patch, Acres of Adventure teaches children about food, farming, and the environment.

This weekend Acres of Adventure will be featuring special rates for its grand opening. On Saturday, a group of six people can purchase admission for $30; on Sunday, seniors ages 65 and over can enter free with a paid admission. Normal admission rates are $8 per person, $6 for seniors, and children age three and under can enter free.

Acres of Adventure will be open from 2 – 7 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday, and 1 – 5 p.m. on Sunday this weekend. Those will also be the hours for the fall season.

The Market at Pickwick Place will also be offering samples of apples, cider, and cider slush. Other market items include local honey, maple syrup, apples, mums, popcorn, and fall decorations.

Tours of the Pickwick Place barns will take place every hour.

Food will be available from Wynford Athletic Boosters for the grand opening weekend and WQEL 92.7FM will broadcast from 12:30 – 2 p.m. on Saturday.
