BUCYRUS—The Crawford County Board of Elections has announced that absentee ballots have arrived for the upcoming Primary/Special Election to be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. Voters who are unable to vote in person on Election Day may cast their ballots by coming into the office during specific hours.

The office will be open for absentee voting from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, through Friday, April 7, 2023; 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Monday, April 10, 2023 through Friday, April 14, 2023; and 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Monday, April 17, 2023, through Friday, April 21, 2023. On Monday, April 24, 2023, the office will be open from 7:30 A.M. to 7:30 P.M., and on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, it will be open from 7:30 A.M. to 8:30 P.M. From Wednesday, April 26, 2023, through Friday, April 28, 2023, the office will be open from 7:30 A.M. to 7:30 P.M. On Saturday, April 29, 2023, the office will be open from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., and on Sunday, April 30, 2023, it will be open from 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.

The Primary Election is only for Bucyrus City Republicans. However, select areas in Crawford County will be holding a Special Election. Voters in Bucyrus City will need to declare their political party or vote issues only. Those who are unable to vote in person can request an absentee application by mail, by calling 419-562-8721, or by downloading and printing the prescribed form from the Crawford County Board of Elections website at crawfordcountyohioboe.gov.

Absentee balloting by mail ends on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at 8:30 P.M. Ballots must be postmarked by the day before Election Day and received by the fourth day after Election Day to be counted. Absentee balloting in person ends on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. The office will be open from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on that day for absentee voting. Voters who choose to return their absentee ballots in person must do so at the Board of Elections Office by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day.
