The weekend was a busy one for Crawford County Sheriff’s deputies on road patrol and apparently a dangerous one for area motorists. The Sheriff’s Office investigated four accidents that resulted in six people being transported to Bucyrus Community Hospital for treatment.
Twenty-year-old Deric Skidmore was injured just after 6:30 Friday morning when his car went off the roadway on Brokensword Road and rolled over. The accident occurred west of Schwemley Road. Skidmore’s vehicle came to rest on its top. He was taken to the hospital by a family member.
Three people were injured at approximately 3 o’clock Friday afternoon in a one-vehicle rollover accident on Ohio 98 south of Orewiler Road. Injured and taken by ambulance to the hospital were the driver, 21-year-old Trinity Newman, and her passengers, 21-year-old Endia Simmons and 5-month-old Israel Simmons. All three are from Marion.
A third one-vehicle rollover accident occurred about one-half later Friday afternoon involving 42-year-old Lesley Garee of Bucyrus on Ohio 100. Garee was traveling north just south of Monnett-Chapel Road when she lost control and went into the ditch. Her vehicle came to rest right side up.
The fourth accident was at about 3 o’clock Saturday afternoon on Crestline Road near Chambers Road. Eighty-six-year-old Luther Woodall was a passenger in a car driven by 84-year-old Barbara Woodall. Twenty-six-year-old Gina Woodall was also a passenger, Woodall’s vehicle went off the road and struck two trees before coming to a stop. Luther Woodall was the only one taken to a hospital.
