BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Bratwurst Festival held its ceremony Thursday evening to crown the new Bratwurst Festival Royalty for 2026.

The newly crowned Queen is Madison Kent. Kent recently graduated from Bucyrus High School and will be attending Marion Technical College this fall, where she will study ultrasound with a minor in radiology.

Kent says that running for Bratwurst Festival Queen has always been a dream of hers since she was little.

“When they told me I had the opportunity to run again and represent my festival again, I jumped on it immediately because this community and festival mean so much to me,” said Kent.

Kent says that her advice for anyone considering running is to absolutely do it.

“It is the greatest experience.  You meet so many new people, you gain an entire set of new little sisters, big sisters. They’re the greatest things ever,” says Kent.

Kent says that she is so happy and honored to be stepping in as the new Bratwurst Festival Queen. She would like to thank her mother for always being so supportive, the bratwurst board, and the Bratwurst Festival Royalty’s main coordinators.

First runner-up is 18-year-old Jasmine Taylor. Taylor is a recent graduate from Tri-Rivers Career Center and plans to work as an aesthetician or nail tech. After her year on court, she plans to attend the University of Northwestern Ohio to study business. 

Taylor says that she decided to run for Bratwurst Queen this year after losing her best friend, whom she met in 2023 through running in Bratwurst Festival Royalty.

“This is the best way I could think of to honor how we met and our memories,” says Taylor.

Taylor’s advice to anyone thinking about running for Bratwurst Festival Royalty is not to be scared and to have fun.

She would like to thank Breezzys’s Pizza and Carle’s Bratwurst for sponsoring, as well as the main coordinators for Bratwurst Festival Royalty.

Second runner-up and Miss Congeniality is 16-year-old Eva Kozinski. Kozinski is a student at Colonel Crawford High School and is going into her Junior year. She will be attending her first year at Pioneer Career & Technology Center in the fall, where she will be in the first responder program for firefighting and EMS.

Kozinski says she chose to run for Bratwurst Queen because it has always been a dream of hers since she was little.

“I’ve always been surrounded by pageant role models. I was Jr Princess and Princess, and I really want to represent our town and be a role model for the younger girls,” says Kozinski.

Kozinski says the biggest advice she has for those who are considering running for Bratwurst Royalty is to be yourself.

She would like to thank her family, especially her mom, for being by her side, her friends who have supported her, as well as the committee and board members who have been a huge help.
