Agencies and organizations are working together to improve the health and well-being of Crawford County. No single entity or agency can make a community healthy – so much more can be accomplished by working together with a common goal to improve health. The Crawford County Health Partners currently consists of Crawford County Partnership for Education and Economic Development, United Way of Crawford County, Family and Children First Council, Avita Health Systems, Crawford County General Health District, Galion City Health Department and the Crawford-Marion ADAMH’s Board.
Our goal is to facilitate a Community Health Assessment (CHA) that leads to the development and implementation of a Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP). Improved health is the responsibility of the entire community and must involve diverse partners. We recognize that examining and improving health will required both a county-wide and an individual based approach.
We also recognize that health doesn’t distribute itself equally – and that examining why some people have fewer opportunities than others to live in good health is an essential component of meaningful health improvement.
A healthy community is linked to an economically successful community. As community leaders, we have a unique opportunity to come together and identify a set of priorities and work collectively to make real and meaningful changes.
We will be holding a meeting on March 5 from 1:30 pm to 3 pm at the Galion Alliance Church, located at 430 Portland Way North, Galion, OH 44833. Britney Ward from Hospital Council of Northwest Ohio will be presenting information about how the Community Health Assessment will be conducted and the benefits each organization or business can gain from being a part of this process.
