The Young Riders 4H Club held another meeting in Bucyrus, Sunday afternoon. During this meeting members were given forms for the Mother’s Day flower sale. This fundraiser will begin on Saturday, March 18 and are due Sunday, March 26. If anyone is interested in purchasing some of the flowers they can contact the club’s Facebook page.

The proceeds from this fundraiser will help purchase club t-shirts and barn decorations for the fair. The theme for the 2017 Crawford County Fair is “Bright Lights and Big Cities.”

Members kept this theme in mind while voting for the t-shirt design they wanted to use for this year. These designs were made by fellow members. The club as a whole decided on the colors for the t-shirts as well as design. T-shirts will be teal with black lettering and design.

Before the meeting was adjourned for demonstrations, the club learned about the supplies they need for showing in English classes at the fair. This talk was given by head advisor Trisha Tackett. She showed members the tack items and clothing that they would need. This included an English style saddle and girth, bridle, breeches, helmet, and much more.

Then the meeting was adjourned and demonstrations were done by Ellie Mayer on What Horses Eat, Hailey Speck on Appaloosas, Kalyn Carroll on How to Think Like a Horse, and Sheena Parsons on How to Properly Wash Your Horse’s Tail.
