NORTH ROBINSON ― Colonel Crawford FFA officers and members of the group opened the Colonel Crawford Board of Education meeting Monday evening.
Some of the officers spoke about their experiences involving the Farm Service Review and how it has helped them.
“I learned how to talk with people and use my communication skills,” Brianna Nolen said.
During the meeting, the board focused on the latest five-year forecast by district treasurer Vickey Stump.
“This is the best forecast we’ve had since I have been here,” Stump said. “There are always changes that will happen, but we do have room to cut back if we need to without going to the staff.”
Stump said it is always the goal of the district to stay within their means and not have to go back to the voters.
The board approved Stump’s reports along with several other items on the agenda including a motion to employ Bucyrus Road Materials for snow removal of the parking lots at the school for this winter in the amount of $60 per hour.
A resolution to authorize the purchase of competitive natural gas service from the lowest responsible bid submitted to Meta Solutions for July 2020 through June 2025 also was approved.
The next board meeting is Nov. 26 at 7 p.m.
