MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—A Lexington man has died following a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Route 30 on Friday, September 19.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the scene at approximately 10:02 p.m. near milepost 6. According to the patrol, a 2011 white Cadillac CTS, driven by 42-year-old Cody Newton of Lexington, was traveling westbound when it went off the right side of the roadway and struck several trees.
Mr. Newton was pronounced deceased at the scene. His passenger, 36-year-old Erica Newton, also of Lexington, was transported to Mansfield OhioHealth with minor injuries.
Responding to the crash were Springfield Fire and EMS, the Richland County Coroner, and Shelly Smith and Sons Towing.
