BUCYRUS — It was all smiles for the Millenbaugh and Harer families Tuesday night at the Crawford County Fair after the steer show.

Lori Millenbaugh, who is in her final year of 4-H, won grand champion overall with her steer.

“It feels really great to have all my hard work pay off,” she said. “I’ve had this steer since October and we’ve taken him to a lot of winter shows and he’s always won his class and did really well.

“Come May, we put him in a cooler room and we worked his hair every day and walked him. Every morning and night I’m out there working with my cattle. Usually my mom and my sisters help me out a lot, but this year with the bad farming season, they haven’t really been able to help me much. So, it’s pretty much been all me this year, so I’m really proud of that.”

Zachary Harer, who is in his third year of showing, won reserve grand champion overall at the show.

“It feels great and I’m blessed that all my hard work paid off for something I love,” he said.

Harer said he has a few years left and hopes to win grand champion overall, eventually.
