MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—A 32-year-old female inmate, Candice Crose of Mansfield, passed away on Sunday morning at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital following a medical emergency at the Richland County Jail.
Sheriff Steve Sheldon confirmed the Crose’s death through a press release.
According to the sheriff’s statement issued on Monday at 1:05 p.m., the jail’s corrections staff and medical personnel rushed to the 3C11 housing unit at approximately 9 a.m. after receiving reports of a medical emergency involving Crose. Despite life-saving efforts of the staff, Crose could not be saved and succumbed shortly after her arrival at the hospital.
“In line with standard procedures, an investigation into the incident is currently underway,” the press release stated.
