BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Bucyrus City Law Director Brandon Gobrecht has issued the following statement regarding felony theft charges filed against Councilwoman At-Large Carolyn Shireman:
“The City of Bucyrus is aware of the allegations against current sitting Councilwoman Carolyn J. Shireman. These allegations are incredibly troubling in nature. We ask the public to respect the privacy of the alleged victim in this matter, and remember that every man, woman, and child in this country is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. As this is an ongoing situation, we will be sure to keep the public updated with any developments involving the City of Bucyrus or its affiliates.”

Shireman was charged last week with one count of theft, a felony of the second degree, and one count of intimidation, a first-degree misdemeanor.
